# Public Testnet Launch

Thank you to all the community members and Season Zero participants who have helped guide Ethereal’s product development so far. This launch is a key step towards mainnet, providing a first look at high-performance onchain trading powered by USDe.

Under the hood, Ethereal is an appchain on [Converge](http://convergeonchain.xyz/) built with industry-leading EVM rollup infra like [Arbitrum](https://arbitrum.io/), [Celestia](https://celestia.org/), and [Conduit](https://www.conduit.xyz/). Together with Ethereal’s application-specific sequencer, these components come together to create a best-in-class onchain trading experience.

2.  Wait for your account to be funded to begin trading

Following the public testnet, we’ll open a waitlist for the mainnet alpha ahead of the anticipated launch timeline and also plan to provide further details surrounding the Season Zero program as well as the upcoming Season One program.
